http://m0a.com Experienced an engine failure yesterday on landing rollout! Took off and the airplane just didn't "feel right" was climbing slow (300fpm) and just not giving us all the power in the RPM department. (2200rpm vs the usual 2500) My brain said "Well it's 90 degrees today and we just fueled up so it must a by-product of that"
Still that small voice said keep it in the pattern. It wasn't until the midfield downwind we actually reached the 1,000ft AGL traffic pattern altitude (again just climbing sooooo slow)
The gentleman I was flying with was high on base and final so we opted for a full stop taxi back since I knew he was going to leave some runway behind him.
We touched down, rolled out, and just as he was bringing the flaps up and getting on the brakes the prop stops and the plane just rolls to a stop!
My eyes go straight to the mixture (full rich) then the fuel selector (on) no idea...
We hopped out of the plane and started pushing to get us off the runway while calling the FBO asking for a ride.
The best place for an engine failure I guess right?
Will post updates on what the mechanic thinks or finds also will be sharing a video from the day later.
